On April 1, 2025, the capital of Kyrgyzstan played host to an influential seminar focused on the ethical management of data and the development of a comprehensive international legal framework for Artificial Intelligence. This important event, staged in Bishkek, was orchestrated by the Journalists’ Public Association with backing from UNESCO. It aimed to pioneer discussions around crafting regulations that balance innovation in AI technology with ethical standards and human rights considerations. The gathering brought together an array of experts including policymakers, technology leaders, legal experts, and human rights advocates, all determined to shape policies that uphold fairness and transparency in AI uses. During the sessions, critical topics were debated such as the implications of AI on privacy, the risk of biased data influencing AI algorithms, and the need for global cooperation to establish uniform guidelines that prevent misuse while fostering innovation. This seminar is a part of ongoing global efforts to address the challenges and opportunities presented by AI technologies and to ensure they benefit society as a whole. Workshop speakers underscored the crucial role of international collaboration in this field, suggesting that only through united efforts can a safe, ethical, and beneficial AI future be assured.
