Microsoft Supercharges Copilot with Memory, Actions, and Visual Understanding

Microsoft has unveiled one of its most substantial updates to Copilot, transforming it from a reactive assistant into a proactive AI companion. Copilot now features memory, which allows it to recall user preferences, past conversations, and personalized workflows—making its assistance feel more tailored and intuitive.

A major highlight is the introduction of “Actions”, a system that enables Copilot to independently carry out multi-step tasks like booking flights, making restaurant reservations, or ordering items online. It can even interact with services like OpenTable and Kayak to fulfill these actions directly. Moreover, Copilot Vision enables the assistant to “see” what the user sees, using smartphone or webcam input to analyze images, documents, or real-world scenes.

Microsoft is integrating these features across Windows, smartphones, and Office apps, aiming to position Copilot as a truly omnipresent AI assistant—one that can anticipate needs and carry out tasks without prompting.
